Who Are We?
This Unit was organized in April 2006. Our Unit consists of Experienced K9 handlers, some having between 6 and 9 years of experience in this field. We look for Missing People, whether alive or deceased. We are here to support and help the Law Enforcement in the surrounding areas and beyond. When contacted by Law Enforcement we activate immediately; we are available 24/7. When we are contacted by family members, we first talk to the detective on the case. If our assistances is required we are activated and on the road within one hour.
We are a not for profit 501(c)(3) organization here to help the Law Enforcement, families and communities to locate a missing person. We do not charge for our services. We mostly cover our own expenses, or raise money through Public Education, and / or Donations from the public and business’.
Our Unit has 6 handlers and 8 dogs. We have handlers that are on the K9 Resource list for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. We have five Bloodhounds that are either trained or being trained for man trailing. Currently, we have 2 Australian Kelpies and a German Shepherd that are trained in HRD (Human Remains Detection) also known as Recovery.
Three bloodhounds hold certifications with , the American Bloodhound Club ABC in EECT, MT title through AKC. We hold several certification's of Training for Trailing and Recovery through Indiana Homeland Security.
